(The Tench Building is located on the NE corner of South Main Street and 2nd Avenue in downtown
Gainesville--there is ample free parking if you contact me in advance)
Each class begins with a demonstration and discussion of a particular topic. Individuals work at their
own pace on projects of their choosing.
Stewart Thomas offers instruction in:

Oriental brush painting
•
Watercolour painting
•
Calligraphy (English, Chinese, Arabic or Persian script, Sanskrit or almost any other script you
are interested in)
•
Simple bookbinding techniques
•
Assistance in other visual art projects: prints, pastel, mixed media, etc.
•
You may attend individual classes or all of them; you may begin at any time. All levels of artistic
experience welcome!
$15.00 per class
For those attending class for the first time: bring materials you already have -- we will discuss what
else you will need before you spend any money!
A selection of brushes and papers is available for purchase in class.
